from Doug:

I was raised in one of the Ontario snow belts and Dad and I get great enjoyment talking about the big snowbanks and the road being closed for six weeks the winter before I was born. Since then I moved 150 km east to Toronto, but my brother moved the other way, to London, Ontario. There they have experienced quite a snowfall – even for them – in the last eight days. I am sure the measuring-tape tales will be part of the Christmas dinner discussion this year. The memories are great, but I am glad I am not shovelling it.
