Joe's Corner:

I did the dreaded holiday shopping thing over the last few days, and got surprised – parking lots were full, but the stores were quite reasonable. Checkouts were pretty quick, no elbow pads needed. I'm not sure if that's due to the retailers providing easier service or if we have become more polite, but either way it's nice.

The not nice part was last night, when I went into a store and came out an hour later to find the car covered with freezing rain . . . . Hope we don't get much more of that!
