Canada underperforms on measures of business innovation, and recent international comparisons indicate that our record is getting worse, not better. One contributing factor to this poor performance is that almost 40 per cent of Canadian companies don't measure the success of their innovation activities at all.

Accenture: insurance customers would consider buying insurance from internet giants
Two-thirds (67 percent) of insurance customers would consider purchasing insurance products from organizations other than insurers, including 23 percent who would consider buying from online service providers such as Google and Amazon, according to new research by Accenture based on a survey of more than 6,000 insurance customers in 11 countries.

In this report, Celent analyzes deal activity for new policy administration systems in North America using data from 22 vendors selling policy administration solutions to North American life insurers. The report estimates the potential for new deals and upgrades through 2016.

eMarketer: Digital Marketers in Canada focus on increasing sales, lead gen
Digital marketers in Canada have set increasing sales and lead generation as their #1 goal for their efforts this year, according to research from Ignite Digital. The digital agency, which surveyed marketers in Canada in January 2014, found that nearly three-quarters reported increased sales was a digital marketing goal for the year. Almost two-thirds wanted to beef up brand awareness.
