Accenture survey: satisfaction with claims settlements not enough for customer loyalty
Customers are willing to share personal information with their insurers to speed claims settlements, but satisfaction with handling of claims and settlements is not enough to keep customers loyal, according to results of Accenture's Global Insurance Customer Survey. Although a large majority of insurance customers who have submitted a claim in the past two years are satisfied with the way it was handled, nearly half of those who have submitted a claim are still likely or very likely to switch to another insurer in the next year.

Damage insurance firms EssOR Insurance, Pratte Morrissette Inc., and Assuraction Inc. announce the signing of an agreement in principle to create a new entity called EGR. This company, which will specialize in risk management, insurance and surety bonds, will group together damage insurance brokerage services for medium and large businesses, including specialized lines.

Celent: Legacy Transformation in Insurance – Differences Across Continents

Manulife: Less than half of working-age Canadians have a workplace retirement plan
Less than half of working age Canadians (47 per cent of those 25 and older) have a workplace retirement savings plan, according to the most recent Manulife Investor Sentiment Index. The survey also finds most Canadians are risk averse in their approach to saving and investing and are likely missing some opportunities to safely increase their savings, such as maximizing an employer-sponsored pension plan.
