From Doug

ICTA: The End of the Beginning

The Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards program is a nail-biter – for us.

Nominations launched in September, with a December 4 deadline.

Two came in by early November. With four business days left, we still had only two.

Then came the flurry: a couple on Monday, a few more on Tuesday, and most on Wednesday, the last day.

In the end, we received almost twice as many nominations as last year, with an interesting mix of brokers, claims providers, and – the majority – insurers.

The topics range widely, too.

The jury is in place and will be meeting over the next six weeks.

Each of the nominations will be published in January and then the finalists announced. And The People’s Choice (“PICTA”) returns for three weeks leading up to the awards ceremony on Tuesday, February 25, at the 2020 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Conference.

If you are not a participant, we hope you will enjoy reading the examples of how your peers are deploying technology to improve the insurance business and will cast your ballots for the nominees you favour.
