from Doug:

My Dad and Mom moved into a senior's residence last May. Given that Mom has had some medical issues since then, it was a very fortuitous decision. Not long after most of the family enjoyed Christmas there, the facility experienced a virus among the residents. Our first time for the process, with the residence quarantined - they could go out, but no visitors. Then Mom was ill for a day and she and Dad were restricted to their own room for four days. Finally after what seemed like ages, visitors are now allowed, for two hours each day from 1:00 until 3:00. Soon, maybe, they will be back to normal.
